General introduction

Technical Center for Standards, Metrology and Quality 1 (hereinafter referred to as Technical Center 1) is a science and technology organization under the General Department of Standards, Metrology and Quality.

Quality Assurance and Testing Center 1 (QUATEST1) operates under the management of Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality. It is a scientific and technological organization serving State management on Standard, Metrology, Quality and other services requested by organizations and individuals.

Functions - Missions:

  • Non destructive testing - NDT, safety inspection for machines, equipment subject to strict labor safety requirements in accordance with legal provisions.
  • Carrying out testing and evaluation of quality and safety of products, goods, materials, structures, facilities, energy efficiency, GMO and food.
  • Organizing survey, monitoring, testing and environmental impact assessment.
  • Implementation of monitoring and inspection of product quality, goods, materials, structures, equipment, production lines, technology transfer and quality of construction works; Surveying and evaluating technical conditions, technological status, technology renovation consultancy.
  • Evaluating quality management system, certification of products, goods, services, process in accordance with standards and technical regulations.
  • Safety verification for machines, equipment subject to strict labor safety requirements in accordance with legal provisions.
  • Carrying out maintenance, repair, installation, provision of testing equipment and other technology transfers.
  • Undertaking consultancy services on facility investment projects for testing and metrology activities in accordance with the law.

Development History

  • 08/11/1979: Center for Standards, Metrology and Quality Region 1 was established by State Committee of Science and Engineering - A state-owned agency for Standardization, Metrology, Inspection and Quality management of products and goods in the Northern region of Vietnam.
  • 05/11/1994: Renamed to Quality Assurance and Testing Center 1 (QUATEST1 for short)- A public service agency serving State management and business request.
  • 16/02/2017: Establishment of a Testing - Metrology Building at Nam Thang Long Industrial Park - Facility 2 of QUATEST1.
  • Now: QUATEST1 always affirms ourselves as a reputable center in conformity assessment of products and goods.
